Teamsters Local 700 proudly transitioned into their new headquarters, a thoughtfully designed 8,750-square-foot space on the second floor that reflects their identity and mission.
To overcome logistical constraints during construction—particularly limited elevator access—a large window was temporarily removed, enabling crane-assisted delivery of materials directly to the floor. This strategic move ensured both safety and efficiency without compromising the building envelope.
Inside, the narrow floorplate presented challenges that were met with creative solutions. The main corridor was articulated with recessed file niches and a baffle ceiling system, introducing rhythm and visual relief. These baffles extend into the lounge area, enhancing openness and creating a cohesive spatial experience.
The Teamsters memorial cabinet was thoughtfully integrated into the waiting area with a built-in appearance yet mounted on z-clips to allow easy removal for off-site events. In the main conference room, a historically significant table—central to the union’s legacy—was prominently placed, anchoring the space with meaning and continuity.
The result is a workplace that balances practicality with purpose, honoring the Teamsters’ heritage while supporting their future.
